Six degrees of Separation...or LESS.

Definition from Wikipedia: Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person he or she knows and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people he or she knows, then everyone is an average of six "steps" away from each person on Earth.

That being said, it was fun to learn that I "knew" Miss Illinois. We spent most of the day together on Tuesday. She made a surprise visit to Vachel Lindsay School to talk to the kids in my daughter's class. The other fourth graders joined in too. Miss Illinois spoke about Character and even sang for the kids. It was AWESOME!

After that we headed to the State Capitol Building. Miss Illinois was VERY popular there! I photographed her with lots of state politicians. She was officially introduced to the members of the House. Yep, I took photos of that too. On our way out, we got a tour of the Governor's office. Like the inner, inner office where he hangs out when he is in town. Miss Illinois posed with the Gov's Elvis statue. Who knew they shared a love for "The King?" Of course I photographed it. LOL Then we headed out to the lawn of the Capitol for this image.

What an amazing, surreal day. More images to come.
